The selection of the right data collection methodologies, analysis methods and reporting tools is a question of suitability, reliability and of the ratio between costs and profit. We consider it part of our job to question methods and technologies and to optimise them where necessary. We also deem it our duty, however, to continue utilising approaches that have proven to be a success, especially if innovation proves only to be harmful to the plausibility and robustness of results, or if it does not carry an added benefit for our clients. The selection of the appropriate data collection, analysis and reporting method is the means and not the end.
